L'exposition présente 12 boîtes lumineuses créées par Joan Fontcuberta dans le cadre du projet "ICCD Artists in Residence". Invité à s'occuper des collections historiques exceptionnelles de l'Institut - fondé à la fin du XIXe siècle comme cabinet photographique pour documenter le patrimoine culturel à des fins de protection et de catalogage -, Fontcuberta a choisi de travailler sur des plaques photographiques détériorées, qui ont servi de point de départ à une série d'expérimentations visuelles et linguistiques.Catalogue sous forme de livre d'artiste créé pour l'exposition du photographe à l'Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo e la Documentazione, sous la direction de Francesca Fabiani, et promu par Catalogo e la Documentazione del Ministero della Cultura.The exhibition presents 12 light boxes made by Joan Fontcuberta, as part of the "ICCD Artists in Residence" project. Called to deal with the exceptional historical collections of the Institute -- founded in the late 19th century as a Photographic Cabinet to document cultural heritage for the purpose of protection and cataloguing -- Fontcuberta chose to work on some deteriorated photographic plates, which served as a starting point for a series of visual and linguistic experiments.
