Le titre du livre fait référence aux principaux éléments utilisés par Mika Horie pour créer ses cyanotypes. Le cyanotype est une technique photographique utilisant la photosensibilité des sels de fer. Les tirages de Mika Horie sont tous différents, même lorsqu'ils montrent la même image, du fait de la lumière du soleil en constante évolution, et des particularités du papier fait main par l'artiste. Cette singularité est soulignée dans le livre. Chaque exemplaire possède son propre cyanotype original.
