Exposition au Sprengel Museum Hannover (D), du 17 octobre 2014 au 22 février 2015.. Une série de photos de Martin Parr dans laquelle il suit la communauté britannique de Basse Saxe, en Allemagne.. Martin Parr a été chargé de rechercher d'éventuelles traces d'appartenance britannique à Hanovre et dans ses environs, le contexte étant non seulement la célébration du 300e anniversaire du couronnement de l'électeur de Hanovre en tant que George Ier d'Angleterre en 1714, mais aussi l'histoire plus récente de la Basse-Saxe en tant que partie de l'ancienne zone d'occupation britannique. Le retrait actuel des forces britanniques d'Allemagne a soulevé la question de l'existence éventuelle d'une identité britannique en Allemagne et/ou d'expressions extérieures d'une histoire commune entre l'Allemagne et la Grande-Bretagne. Avec la devise « Nous aimons la Grande-Bretagne ! » Le résultat de la quête de Parr a été présenté au Sprengel Museum Hannover en octobre 2014 et dans le catalogue qui l'accompagne.. . A series of photos by Martin Parr in which he follows the British community in Lower Saxony, Germany.. Martin Parr was asked to search for possible traces of Britishness in and around Hannover, the background being not only the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the crowning of the Elector of Hannover as George I of England in 1714 but also the more recent history of Lower Saxony as part of the former British zone of occupation. The present withdrawal of the British forces from Germany has triggered the question concerning the possible existence of Britishness in Germany and/or outward expressions of a common German and British history. With the motto “We love Britain!” The upshot of Parr’s quest was shown at the Sprengel Museum Hannover in October 2014 and in the accompanying catalog.
