Ce livre grand format offre un aperçu inédit du monde de HR Giger (1940-2014), créateur du monstre légendaire du film Alien est peuplé de sculptures biomécaniques, de peintures à l’aérographe, de meubles extraterrestres, d’objets, d’estampes et d’autoportraits. Ayant eu un accès exclusif à la maison, au jardin et à l’atelier de l’artiste à Zurich, la photographe française Camille Vivier y a travaillé seule avec quelques modèles pour une série de séances photo. En plus des images de l’atelier et des sculptures grandeur nature, Vivier a documenté une centaine d’objets et d’œuvres d’art. Dans un bref texte, la photographe évoque également la fascination durable pour l’art de Giger.. . . . This large-format book offers a never-before-seen glimpse into HR Giger’s world of biomechanical sculptures, airbrush paintings, alien furniture, objects, prints and self-portraits. Having been granted exclusive access to the artist’s home and studio in Zurich, French photographer Camille Vivier worked there alone with a few models for a series of photo shoots. In addition to images of the studio and life-size sculptures, Vivier documented some one hundred objects and works of art. In a brief text, the photographer also discusses her enduring fascination with Giger’s art.
