Synthesis est un livre d'artiste qui rassemble six années de travail de l'artiste multimédia japonaise Mari Katayama. Créé entre 2019 et 2025, période marquée par la naissance de sa fille et son retour à Gunma, la province rurale où elle a grandi, cet ouvrage rassemble neuf séries photographiques, dont la toute nouvelle Tree of Life, toutes réalisées dans son studio personnel. Cet espace devient à la fois un lieu de méditation et une scène de transformation.
