Un celebre quanto raro volume di Lewis Baltz relativo alle immagini realizzate negli anni 80 nella San Rafael Bay californiana, area conosciuta ai pieugrave; per essere occupata da uno dei pieugrave; vecchi e famosi penitenziari americani.Baltz was included in the seminal 1975 exhibition New Topographics: Photographs of a Man-Altered Landscape at the George Eastman House in Rochester, New York. Artists featured in the show examined the drastic transformations that industrialization and suburbanization had wrought on the environment. Baltzs 1985 portfolio, San Quentin Point, focused on the detritus spread around the as-yet-undeveloped terrain of Marin County in San Francisco.
